When Apple first allowed the first
iPhone to be sold in 2007, the one way to run software was with Web apps in an
internet browser — only for the iPhones made by Apple. Then Apple made the
iPhone with 3G and made an iTunes Store in 2008. iPhone owners were allowed to pick from
thousands of apps that could be installed on the phone. Now there are over
30,000 apps in the iTunes store [source: 148Apps]. People wanted to have more
control over the iPhone so they have started jailbreaking. Jailbreaking is
enabling you to have more control of the settings and applications on the
iPhone. People all over the world have started to jailbreak and they would
recommend you to jailbreak your Apple device.
The Gizmodo.com website says the following: "So, you've heard about jailbreaking,
and it sounds intriguing, And dangerous. (But mostly just intriguing.)”
Throughout the last few years, jailbreakers
created multiple tools that helped jailbreaking an iPhone, iPad, and iPod
touch. Jailbreaking can change with every iOS update. People are always
creating new tutorials on how to jailbreak an iPhone. If you want to jailbreak
your Apple device this is just for you. It is not recommended to connect your
Apple device to boot the device every single time. It is bad with new operation
system releases, because they freeze up more than they used to. You probably don’t want your iPhone, iPad, or
iPod freezing up and you not be able to use it anymore. Luckily the Evasion method is an un-tethered
jailbreak and it still works on almost every Apple device, so you don’t need to
use a tethered one. Tethered jailbreaks are only solutions if un-tethered
jailbreaks are not available to be used. Evasi0n is able to be used for even
the latest versions of iOS.
Here are directions to jailbreak your iPhone:
- Backup your iPhone (or other iDevice).
- Download Evasi0n for your operating system (Windows or Macintosh OS).
- Open up the Evasi0n app that you downloaded.
- Connect your iPhone to your computer (if you have passcode lock enabled, go into the Settings app on your device and temporarily disable it in the General à Passcode Lock section. You can re-enable it after the jailbreak is complete.)
- Turn on Airplane mode to prevent any updates or data-driven apps from interfering with the jailbreak process.
- Back on your computer; click the Jailbreak button in the Evasi0n app window. It will take a while to upload some necessary jailbreak data, and your phone should restart during this process. Wait for Evasi0n to finish this step.
As part of the process, Evasi0n
installs a temporary jailbreak app on your device. When ready, it will prompt
you to open it. Simply unlock your device, and then tap on the jailbreak app
icon. It will cause the screen to flash briefly but appear to do nothing. If
you look at your computer, you will find the jailbreak process continues. It
will finish in a minute or so and you can close Evasi0n on your computer. Your
device will need to reboot a couple of times, but when you see your lock screen
the process is done. Just navigate to the Cydia app and enjoy your new
jailbreak!
